After restyling the waiting and living rooms, the Spaarne Hospital asked us to re-decorate their two palliative rooms. This is an area where it’s especially important to create the right atmosphere. Our most important guideline in this project was to make patients and their family feel at home. After all, it’s a room where someone spends the last phase of their life.
In a project like this, we always try to empathize with the feelings of patients and visitors and imagine ourselves in the same situation: how would we want to use this room, what would we need? Privacy, peace and warmth where the keywords that came to us. We also look at a project with a practical view. For example’ one of us sits in a wheelchair to determine the height of a mirror. The stylish decoration is of course important, but more important still is the practical use of an interior. We love the challenge to translate that into a new creation, and, in this case, to give patients and visitors the warmth and comfort they need.
